This week the team tackle an animation special of what to watch, made up of the new season of Big Mouth, Paradise PD, and Bojack Horseman. All three of these shows are definitely not for our younger viewers!
Season two of Big Mouth is finally here and Cassie and Filip talk about if it met their expectations or not. The new season is quite different, maybe focusing more on creating a message rather than just crude comedy.
Oh, but there is still plenty of that, with a lot more focus put on Rick (disgusting old hormone monster) and Coach Steve. Addition of new characters like the Shame Wizard (or Shane Lizard) raise quite a few good laughs and raise a few weird questions at the same time.
Paradise PD was also discussed, a show about a disorganized police department that tries to chase down a drug Lord in a small town. The opening scene of the show, where a little boy manages to shoot his dad in the nuts, sets the tone perfectly for what the show is all about.
The show has some pretty funny characters like Bullet (the drug-sniffing dog that is addicted to them) and Hobo Cop (a hobo that was enlisted to dispose of bombs when needed). It borders between being a bad show, or just a collection of bad jokes that can be sometimes good. The team didn’t seem to agree on the verdict in the end.
Neil talked about watching Bojack Horseman, whilst failing to convince the rest of the team to give it a try. Why? Maybe it’s something to do with talking horses, who knows. Maybe it’s the resemblance to Italian Mafia threats (get it?).
